History:

Twenty years ago The Happy Angels Youth Brass Band was initiated by Edrine Wasswa with 12 orphan street boys. In 2019 the 211 boys and girls of all ages and religions were accepted by the State Orphanage and Edrine retired after a long illness. The group's manager, Allan Kawalya formed the The Pearl of Africa Youth Brass Band. Since then, Allan has been studying in Childe to become a piano tuner/technician. When Allan returns we hope to have received sufficient donations for buildings, instruments, tools, etcl to establish his piano business so that it might support youth bands, and the teaching of musical instrument repair.

While in Chile, Allan continues to raise money for monthly expenses of basic life support for band members. Every month we have expenses in Uganda. Please donate.

We understand the need to develop an infrastructure to support the new luthiers including where to get the tools and parts; management, transportation, and parts; and association with professionals who are dedicated to education for life.
